v0.6: Telegram Notifications, Tracker Groups, and Sharing

Price tracking is useful. Sharing deals with friends is even better. v0.6 makes DealMonitor more social and more organized, with Telegram notifications, tracker groups, public share links, and CSV export. This release is about giving you more control over how you organize, monitor, and share your tracked prices.

Telegram Notifications

Email notifications work, but they are not exactly instant. You might check your inbox hours after a price dropped, by which time the deal could be gone. Telegram notifications solve this by delivering price alerts directly to your chat, in real time.

Setting up Telegram is straightforward: go to your account settings, click "Connect Telegram", and you will receive a link to start a chat with the DealMonitor bot. Send it a message, and the connection is established. From that point on, any tracker with Telegram notifications enabled will send you a chat message the moment the price drops below your target.

The Telegram bot sends formatted messages with the product name, the new price, your target price, and a direct link to the product. You can see at a glance whether the deal is worth jumping on.

Like all our notification channels, Telegram is per-tracker configurable. Enable it for the deals you care about most and leave email for everything else. Or use both, we do not judge.

Tracker Groups

If you track more than a handful of products, your dashboard can get overwhelming. v0.6 introduces tracker groups, a simple but powerful way to organize your trackers into categories that make sense to you.

Create groups like "Electronics", "Kitchen", "Gift ideas", or "Black Friday watchlist". Drag and drop trackers between groups to reorganize them. Collapse groups you are not currently interested in to keep your dashboard tidy.

The drag-and-drop interface uses smooth animations and clear visual feedback. Grab a tracker card, drag it to a different group, and drop it. The order is saved instantly. You can also reorder groups themselves to put your most important category at the top.

Found an amazing deal and want to share it? Every tracker now has a share button that generates a public link to the product's price history. Anyone with the link can see the current price, the price trend chart, and basic product information, without needing a DealMonitor account.

Share links include rich metadata for social previews. When you paste a share link into WhatsApp, Twitter, or any other platform, it shows a preview card with the product image, current price, and shop name. No more sending screenshots of your dashboard.

The share page also shows your target price and when the tracker was last checked, so the recipient knows exactly what deal they are looking at and how fresh the data is.

CSV Export

For the data enthusiasts among our users, every tracker's price history can now be exported as CSV. One click downloads a file with every recorded price point, including timestamps and currency. Import it into Excel, Google Sheets, or any data analysis tool to create your own charts and analyses.

This is also useful for record-keeping. If you want to document how a product's price changed over months before making a purchase decision, the CSV gives you the complete picture.

Check Priority

Not all trackers are equally urgent. A product you are casually watching can be checked every 12 hours, but a limited-time deal or a product you are actively waiting to buy needs more frequent updates.

v0.6 introduces check priority levels. Set a tracker to "high" priority, and DealMonitor checks its price every hour instead of every 12 hours. This means you will know about a price drop within 60 minutes at most, compared to up to 12 hours for normal trackers.

Use high priority sparingly for the products that matter most. It is a limited resource because more frequent checks put more load on both our servers and the target shops.

Price Statistics

Every tracker card now shows price statistics: the minimum price we have recorded, the maximum price, and the percentage change since tracking started. This gives you instant context without opening the price history chart.

At a glance, you can see that a product has dropped 15% since you started tracking it, or that the current price is near its all-time low. Combined with the price history chart, this makes it easy to decide whether now is the right time to buy.

Account Page

We added a dedicated account settings page where you can manage your notification preferences, connected services (Telegram), and profile information. Previously, these settings were scattered across different parts of the interface. Now they are all in one place.

What This Means for You

  • Telegram alerts get price drops to you faster than email.
  • Groups keep your growing tracker collection organized.
  • Share links let you share deals with anyone, no account required.
  • CSV export gives you full access to your price data.
  • High priority ensures hourly checks for your most important trackers.
  • Price stats provide instant context on every tracker card.

This release makes DealMonitor a tool you can use with friends and family, not just solo. Share a deal, organize your wishlist, and get notified instantly when prices drop. Log in to try the new features, or tell a friend about DealMonitor by sharing your first tracker link.
